A website for $0 upfront and $39 a month

A café owner in a check apron standing with her arms folded in front of her counter

A setup fee is a hard thing to say yes to in a week when the ute needs tyres. So the website waits another year.

That is why we added a package without one.

Glow: $0 upfront, $39 a month

No photos and no time to write anything? This is for you. We design the site, write the words and choose the photos. Hosting, backups and updates are in the $39.

The site goes on your own .com.au domain, registered in your name. On Glow the domain registration is a small fee you pay yourself.

Spark: your own photos and business email

Spark is from $745 at the moment, half the usual $1,490, plus $39 a month. You get up to five pages with your own photos, your .com.au domain, business email, and Google Search Console and Analytics set up.

Either way, you see three designs before you pay anything.

Can customers find you when they search?

Pick up your phone and search your own trade and suburb, the way a customer would. If you are not on the first page, that job went to whoever was. Why a Facebook page is not enough A Facebook page is a good place to show your work. It is a poor place to be found. Someone searching is in a hurry: they want to see what you do, where you work and how to reach you, on one page that loads fast on a phone. That is the job of a website. What a small site needs for local search Your trade and the suburbs you cover, in plain words A phone number that can be tapped Pages that load fast on a phone Your own .com.au domain, with email on it Google Search Console and Analytics, so you can see who finds you That is what Spark is: a five-page website set up for local search, ...

Who owns your domain?

A quick check for anyone with a website: who owns your domain? If the answer is "my web guy", you have a problem waiting to happen. The domain sits in his account, the site sits on his builder, and when he stops replying, so does your email. Leaving means starting again. How to check Look up your domain on a whois search and see whose name is on it. Ask who holds the login for the domain and the hosting. Ask what happens, and what it costs, if you want to move. How it should work Every GlowIt site is registered to the business that pays for it: the domain, the site and the hosting. Support is month to month, with no contract. If you ever leave, we hand you the transfer code and help you move, free. It is not a clever offer. It is just how it should be. Answer five questions and get three free designs .
